Investec – Where Out of the Ordinary Happens
At Investec, we do things differently. We're a leading international bank and wealth manager built on a culture of curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit and human connection. Ideas are heard, ambition is celebrated, and impact is encouraged. As part of a team that challenges convention and strives for outperformance, you'll help shape bold solutions for clients who expect something more than the ordinary.
About the team:
The Finance team supports Investec Europe Limited's Ireland business and works closely with colleagues across the organisation, including the Group Prudential Reporting team. This role also has key engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland.
You will join a small, dynamic team with a flat structure, where adaptability, collaboration and a practical approach are essential. This is a senior, hands-on opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the firm meets its prudential and statistical reporting obligations, while providing clear and pragmatic regulatory advice to the business.
What will I be doing?
- Support the firm's strategic objectives by providing subject matter expertise on prudential capital matters.
- Monitor and forecast capital requirements on both an expected and stressed basis.
- Lead the design and delivery of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and Recovery Plan.
- Conduct regulatory horizon scanning to identify emerging obligations early and coordinate their effective implementation.
- Act as a key point of contact for the firm's regulatory authorities, ensuring responses to queries and information requests are accurate, timely and aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and returns, including COREP and statistical reporting.
- Monitor relevant control frameworks and implement enhancements where required.
- Provide clear, practical advice on regulatory policy and prudential matters across the Ireland business.
What do I need to bring?
- A third-level degree.
- A minimum of ten years' experience working in prudential capital within a banking entity.
- In-depth understanding of prudential capital regulations as they apply to an Irish credit institution.
- Proven experience interpreting complex regulatory requirements, including Basel III and Basel IV.
- A strong understanding of Pillar 2 Requirement (P2R) and Pillar 2 Guidance (P2G) concepts, including the ability to calculate and assess their impact.
- Experience managing tight regulatory reporting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
- A track record of leading change initiatives focused on process improvement or policy updates.
I am good at:
- Analytical and commercially minded, with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- A clear and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Highly organised, adaptable and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Collaborative in approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships across different teams and levels of seniority.
- Pragmatic and solutions-focused, with the confidence to provide clear regulatory advice.
