Role: Relationship Manager
Role Definition:
- The role is designed to complement the Financial Intermediary Team (the ‘Team') and enhance its proposition through a joined-up, team approach. The core areas of responsibility for this role lies within the ownership of developing (where appropriate) and enhancing relationships in the Trust and Corporate Service Provider market, including the risk management activities of the Team's client base.
- Selectively developing relationships and business opportunities with Guernsey Financial Intermediaries, to include:-
- Developing client contact strategies to ensure delivery of personal targets and objectives, which fall in line with IBCI's and the Team's strategy and risk appetite;
- Ensuring an exceptional service is provided to clients at all times.
- Ensuring completion of all necessary risk management activities for the portfolio of clients by following IBCI's policies and processes.
- The individual must have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory environment relevant to the job, and to take into account and follow all applicable internal compliance considerations, including all appropriate processes, policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery of personal targets and objectives set in accordance with IBCI and the Team's agreed strategy. This includes:-
- Self-initiation of relationship development and management, including;
- Developing a contact strategy with existing and newly established intermediary clients;
- Leveraging existing and selectively establishing new relationships;
- Ensuring adherence to local regulatory requirements and maintaining the highest risk standards.
- Personal targets and objectives include contribution to the IBCI P&L targets by strengthening existing client relationships and identifying new, diversified income stream opportunities. This includes, inter alia, lending, deposits, foreign exchange, custody, and wealth management.
- Where appropriate and in collaboration with the wider IBCI business, ensure that the deposit mix of tenures are appropriate with an acceptable balance between liquidity tenures;
- Inter-team and wider Group referrals – identifying opportunities for other areas of the Bank and passing to the relevant department.
- Self-initiation of relationship development and management, including;

Assessment of financial performance and key measures in a timely manner, addressing any shortcomings as and when they arise thus ensuring delivery against objectives;

Work closely with the New Business & Risk and Compliance teams to ensure all account opening and account/client risk assessment/monitoring in respect of AML/CFT procedures are followed and satisfied.

Delivering outstanding service to our clients by putting them at the centre of everything that we do.
- Work with and support the Team's client entertainment programme.

- An overview of the investments markets to include bonds, equities, principal protected and structured solutions;
- Exposure to management of regulatory risk in a large financial institution;
- Self motivated, driven and goal orientated;
- Self-initiate follow-up sales activity;
- A detailed knowledge of the operations of our organisation and the environment (e.g. legal, regulatory, physical) in which it operates;
- A detailed knowledge of the general tools and techniques of account opening, the banking product suite and service delivery.
