The Energy & Infrastructure Finance (E&IF) team is responsible for executing Investec's strategy for E&IF clients in the UK and Europe. E&IF provides innovative funding solutions in the Debt Financing and Advisory space.
This role is integral to the team's success and offers exciting opportunities for individual development in a sector which is central to delivering Investec's Sustainability goals. 

What does the role involve? 
Support execution of credit approval process and related activities, including:
a)Model Review, including formula audit, confirmation of logical consistency and validation of assumptions.
b)Modification to facilitate analysis, for example adding debt sizing calcs, dashboards, scenario functionality.
c)Understand and explain the model logic to stakeholders.
d)Run and interpret sensitivity analysis.
e)To write/draft credit papers.
f)Prepare deal ratings, analyse deal economics and run return calculations.

Support execution of financial advisory mandates, including:
a)Build comprehensive financial models based on discussions with company management, sponsors and DD advisors.
b)Model Review, including formula audit, confirmation of logical consistency and validation of assumptions.
c)Building dashboards to extract and display key outputs.
d)Explaining the model assumptions, logic and outputs to clients.
e)Prepare marketing materials (Teasers, Information Memoranda).
f)Assist in deal execution activities including working with external advisers (such as technical-, market-, insurance-, model audit advisers).

Assist senior members of the team in marketing and origination efforts through the provision of deal structuring solutions, client/advisor engagement and the creation/drafting of pitch books and preparing deal screening memos for discussion with senior team members and the credit department.
Manage a portfolio of assets in conjunction with the senior team member responsible for the E&IF portfolio.

 What other key activities are there?
a)Manage ongoing relationship with Borrowers and internal and external stakeholders.
b)Ongoing review of financial/other information to ensure that cashflow is being received in line with financial close expectations.
c)Prepare annual reviews, amendments and waiver requests for portfolio assets.

What core skills and knowledge are we looking for?

•The ideal candidate will be an experience of financial modelling professional with relevant experience in the Energy & Infrastructure sector.
•Capable of building a comprehensive financial model from scratch (with supervision) from Day 1. This should include dynamic/linked financial statements (P&L, CF and BS).
•Understanding of financial analysis, valuation and modelling techniques.
•Relevant market, sector or necessary technical knowledge for the Energy & Infrastructure sector informing the broader responsibilities as per the role description.
•To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly.
•Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role.
•Creative problem-solving in providing flexible and innovative financing structures.

What other attributes would be helpful for the role?
•Transaction experience (ideally from a debt financing angle) in the Energy and Infrastructure sector, preferably gained in a relevant financing and/or advisory team in a •bank, sponsor or advisor.
•Experience coding in VBA for Excel.
