Role: Senior Automation Analyst

Location: London

Team Description

Investec Bank is looking for a Senior Automation Business Analyst with extensive Robotic Process Automation (RPA) experience to help us find value through process optimisation and automation.

A proactive, self-starting individual who is passionate about affecting positive change with RPA and low code tools.

The Automation team is responsible for engaging with business units across the Bank and assisting them process optimisation and automation.

As a Senior Automation Analyst, your primary role will be to aid the team in the delivery of change driven by the Programme. You will be tasked with understanding and capturing business processes and change requirements and analysing and documenting these using various tools and techniques.

You will also be expected to be technically/solution inclined and be able to evaluate the different automation options. Be comfortable discussing the options with Architects & Developers.

Your recommendations will be developed and implemented by our offshore team RPA development team, and you will be responsible for their successful delivery.

This will mean working and collaborating with stakeholders and the team remotely and in the offices where required.

Description of role and key responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of intelligent automation technologies and how to implement them at scale
  • Ability to analyse processes and identify the most fit-for-purpose technology solutions
  • Familiarity with major RPA vendors (Blue Prism, UiPath, WorkFusion, Automation Anywhere)
  • Understanding of other automation technologies such as process mining (Celonis), OCR (Abby) and the Microsoft Power Platform
  • Ability to identify and remove waste from processes prior to automation
  • Drive process assessments for robotics process automation opportunities, including preparing documentation of solutions and coding
  • Identifying new process opportunities and accurately analysing and estimating new processes, quickly assessing feasibility
  • Analyse, understand, and document the business processes in detail where required and communicate effectively with business counterparts and stakeholders
  • Identify and communicate the RPA technical infrastructure requirements.
  • Design RPA process solutions in accordance with standard RPA vendor specific design principles and standards.
  • Support existing processes and implement change requirements as part of a structured change control process.
  • Problem solving issues that arise in day-to-day running of RPA processes and providing timely responses and solutions as required.
  • Communicating with RPA software vendor support team for technical issues and participating with other users in the RPA community.
  • Working within project planning constraints, communicating any identified project risks and issues to the delivery/project manager accordingly and providing inputs to the change control process.
  • Supporting the Operational Teams during the UAT and rollout phases.

Core skills and knowledge

  • Major RPA vendor developer accreditation
  • Experience in RPA projects within financial services is desirable
  • Process automation using VBA, .NET, python or equivalent
  • Experience in agile delivery methodology, preferably as part of a scrum team
  • Lean six sigma accreditation/skills
  • Experience creating process definition documents
  • Strong problem-solving skills - understanding of SDLC including documentation, testing and project management.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple high-priority projects and meet schedules.
  • Good communication skills to clarify expectations and drive alignment
  • Proven ability to independently overcome obstacles and resolve complex problems.
  • Experience as a solution architect driving value through automation across a number of technologies is ideal.
  • Assist with he support and mentoring of our offshore developers and help to define best practice.
