Senior Website Strategy Manager

What does my role entail?

Investec's UK marketing team is looking for someone who thrives in creating strategies that drive fantastic website user experiences and wants to set and roll-out a strategy to continue our website's growth. Our website is our ‘shopfront' in the UK, so this is a key role in our high-performing Digital Marketing & Marketing Technology team.
It's an exciting time to join the Investec marketing team, as the successful candidate will set the strategy for our website to ensure it is optimised for lead generation, brand building, client engagement and the latest technology so as to improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
At a day-to-day level, you will work with segment-focused marketers to ensure the website performs for their audiences and campaigns and collaborate with international colleagues to continually optimise the global site. You will also oversee all authoring on the UK, North American and Channel Islands sections of to ensure all updates support the overarching website strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Developing a website strategy/strategies with the aim of increasing brand awareness, lead generation and customer engagement, measured through key website performance metrics
• Work with marketing colleagues to ensure the website works as best as possible for their specific audiences.
• Analyse the long-term needs of the company's website, design plans to get us there and then work with marketing colleagues and business stakeholders to implement them.

• Design and build journeys for varying audiences to achieve optimal user experience and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with a range of stakeholders to shape and execute the strategy, including agencies, website authors, analytics and digital personnel and South African colleagues.
• Actively pursue continuous improvement to enhance quality, increase audiences, reduce cost, improve segmentation and raise ROI.
• Leverage analytics and user feedback to inform strategies and changes to the site.
• Manage product roadmaps that evolve the site, including driving adoption of personalisation on the website.
• Choose, coordinate and evaluate website and digital agencies, working with them on the creation of web assets, tools, components, information architecture, journeys etc. that advance the    strategy.
• Ensure our website and web technology are well maintained, taking shared ownership (with counterparts in other territories/countries) of technology that runs across the website.
• Manage a budget to run and improve the website.
• Liaise with other departments and creatives to ensure the website is fully integrated into a holistic and effective digital marketing strategy.
• Collaborate with key colleagues to ensure the website aligns with our brand strategy, reflects our brand guidelines and values, and meets business standards.
• Collaborate with our Testing & Optimisation and Search Marketing leads to continually improve the website for users and the business.
• Oversight of authors who create and edit webpages and campaign landing pages.
• Proactively monitor the latest web trends and digital technologies, including competitor website changes, and identify opportunities for Investec.
• Collaborate with marketing colleagues to support their campaigns with appropriate web-based marketing strategies.
• Be an active member of the Digital Marketing & Marketing Technology team.
• Collaborate with colleagues responsible for logged-in client digital environments to ensure smooth journeys/transitions from website to logged-in environments.
• Undertake to do at least one community-focused project each year which aids the community and Investec's position within it.
• Undertake at least one initiative a year on the website that advances diversity, equity and inclusion.

What core skills and knowledge do you look for?

• Professional marketing qualification desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of digital development and website management – minimum 5 years.
• Extensive experience in working with various website content management systems like Adobe Experience Manager and Wordpress.
• Adept at use of analytical tools like Adobe Analytics, Decibel and Google Analytics.
• Must be able to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook).
• Creativity essential – ability to think differently and challenge assumptions.
• Great communication and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong networking and relationship management skills.
• Strong planning and project management skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
