This marketing role plays an integral part of driving the Investec savings business forward by increasing interest, awareness and take up of our consumer savings products and to deliver this within a dynamic and evolving organisation. This role is critical in supporting the growth strategy for the savings business and plays a leading role within the group funding teams' growth plans.

What will my role and key responsibilities entail?

  • Develop and activate analysis on UK market opportunities, defining proposition opportunities and gaining approval to an ongoing strategic roadmap of customer proposition enhancements which drive client acquisition and engagement and are aligned to the Group Funding strategy
  • Analysing and defining Investec's' current position in the savings market to develop leading tactical and long-term proposition roadmaps which align with the Funding team strategic direction
  • Manage the process of defining and approving the marketing roadmap of proposition deliverables through each stage of the product lifecycle; Idea, Proposal, Business Case, Requirements, etc..., through to successful launch.
  • Ensure the customer view is embedded in any propositional development and that the potential for customer detriment has been assessed and, where possible, mitigated
  • Own and activate the client journey to ensure it is fully embedded in our product designs and digital servicing
  • Develop and be held accountable for go to market strategies which drives client acquisition and retention strategies with regard to new and existing savings products and propositions
  • Define data and digital marketing strategies which profitably grow the savings base with key client segments
  • Help to define the proposition and alignment of the savings offering to the Investec brand, value proposition and tone of voice
  • Conduct timely product reviews and resulting action plans to ensure released products continue to maximise their customer and business benefits, and deliver their anticipated return on investment.
  • Create, deliver and optimise marketing activity in line with specified and agreed performance targets which deliver against set campaign targets and aligned to allocated budget
  • Manage marketing budget against plan to ensure effective and optimal use of marketing spend and measure the impact, ROI and effectiveness of all marketing activity
  • Work with the wider communications team and external agency partners to develop best in class marketing communications which appeal to a broad range of potential savings clients
  • Contribute to best practice and incorporate latest developments and thinking in the delivery of our communications
  • Challenge existing thinking and provide innovative marketing solutions
  • Ensure all campaigns meet the required brand guidelines, regulatory standards, and all Investec specific requirements for compliance/ advertising approvals sign off
  • Apply Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles and ensuring products remain fully compliant as the regulations and propositions change.

What core skills and knowledge are you looking for?

  • Deep experience of commercial marketing within a direct to consumer environment (This does not necessarily need to be FS)
  • Proven history of delivering business growth numbers through digital channels
  • Sophisticated understanding of affiliate marketing and partnership marketing to drive website traffic and new client acquisition
  • History of negotiating partnerships which contribute to commercial growth of the business
  • History of developing Marketing strategy but retaining a passion for execution
  • Broad experience and a passion for planning multi-channel marketing activity across product and marketing life cycles
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills are crucial as is the ability to work collaboratively with a number of different groups of colleagues.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive self-starter with ability to recognise when to challenge the status quo to ensure strategic objectives are being delivered
