Description of role 

Corporate Banking is a fast-paced client-facing business with a growth focus in the mid-market business sector. It comprises the new Corporate Banking business, Asset Finance Group and Treasury Risk Solutions (Trading and Corporate FX desks). Teams are based in London, Guildford, Jersey, Reading, Liverpool and Mumbai. 

The Team Assistant is a new role providing proactive administrative and organisational support to the Personal Assistant (PA) and the wider Corporate Banking leadership team. The role will ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations through effective co-ordination, communication, problem-solving and administrative support, while operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with shifting priorities and time critical demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support

  • Provide professional, confidential administrative support to the PA and senior leaders where required.
  • Manage and organise documents, filing systems, contact lists and general office administration, and introduce the use of AI based tools where possible. 
  • Prepare and format documents and presentations as required.

Diary & Meeting Co-ordination

  • Support the PA with complex diary management.
  • Organise meetings (in person and virtual), including agendas, logistics, and minute taking.
  • Set up meeting rooms, ensuring hospitality and technology are in place.

Travel & Expenses

  • Arrange domestic and international travel (flights, trains, hotels and visas).
  • Prepare, submit and track expense claims for supported team members.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as a first point of contact for internal and external queries, redirecting or
  • Collaborate closely with other PAs and support teams across the business.

Communications, Event and Project Support

  • Assist with planning and delivering events, town halls, client meetings and offsites.
  • Support preparation and co-ordination of leadership reporting, including management packs, updates and tracking actions.
  • Support with internal communications and engagement strategies, collaborating with colleagues across Corporate Banking, AFG and the wider organisation. 

Operational Support

  • Assist with new joiner and leaver processes and general people related administration, liaising with appropriate teams.
  • Provide temporary support to visiting Executives, including diary and logistics management during UK visits.
  • Provide resilience and continuity of support across leadership activities, particularly during periods of absence or peak demand.

Core skills and knowledge:

  • To always act with integrity and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory).
  • Regulatory knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory).
  • Professional, organised and reliable, with a proactive approach to supporting the PA and the wider team.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Co-Pilot and PowerBI.
  • Clear, confident communicator - both written and verbal.
  • Able to work calmly under pressure, manage deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Team player, good listener, collaborates effectively with colleagues and builds strong working relationships.
  • Self-motivated, attentive to detail and able to use initiative when resolving day-to-day issues.
  • Strong organisational and project co-ordination skills.
