Technical Application Support Engineer

Location: Guernsey

Description of role and key responsibilities

Investec Bank (Channel Islands) is looking for a Technical Application Support Engineer to support its Banking applications, Integration applications and Management information systems.
You will be working within the Channel Islands IT team and as part of the wider Investec IT team and work closely with the Business Change team and wider teams of Investec Bank (Channel Islands) to implement change and support the key applications and processes.
The focus is to provide support, maintenance and assist in enabling change within the Banks core banking applications by:

• Providing day to day maintenance and support for all banking and enabling applications, including underlying infrastructure applications and services (e.g. Windows) across development, test, production and DR environments.
• Performing maintenance and upgrades of these applications.
• Performing routine health checks and system availability checks.
• Performing and documenting problem identification and root cause analysis.
• Contacting and engaging with Investec colleagues and partners with regard to troubleshooting or resolution on technical queries.
• Working within the Service manage disciplines of Incident, Problem and Event management.
• Responsibility for the data integrity across applications
• Performing release management by deploying code changes and third-party products across test and production environments and monitor performance across these environments
• Maintaining process and procedure documentation

You will adhere to processes, procedures, Group and local policies and ensure operational alignment with Group Policies and Standard
You will have a passion for change and best practice and be methodical in your approach.
You will participate in projects, architect technical solutions and enhancements to core business, banking and enabling applications infrastructure in collaboration with internal and external specialist service providers

Core skills and knowledge

• Knowledge of working with:
o Windows Server 2016 and later
o Windows Information Services (IIS)
o Microsoft SharePoint
o Management Information systems (Microsoft SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and PowerBI)

Other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role

• Financial services experience
• ITIL Service Management
• APM (Application Performance Monitoring) tools
o ManageEngine Applications Manager
• Knowledge of working with:
o Microsoft BizTalk
o Microsoft SharePoint
o Microsoft Dynamics
o Microsoft Azure
o Power BI
• Ability to manage wide variety of tasks and priorities
