Description of role and key responsibilities:
The role:
• Investec Bank (Channel Islands) is currently operating within a significant programme of change, including strategic transformation initiatives across payments, custody, and core banking.
• This role will assist with maintaining effective business-as-usual (BAU) operations while enabling the organisation to release capacity from core teams. The role ensures continuity of operational delivery, allowing subject matter experts and leadership to focus on successful execution of strategic initiatives.
Key Roles and Responsibilities to include: -
• Prepare, input & authorise manual SWIFT payments sent to central inbox.
• Process, review & repair Online SWIFT payments in a timely manner.
• Process Inward SWIFT payments in a timely manner.
• Monitor & release payments & message stopped in Safewatch (payment screening system).
• Initiate & respond to payment queries & investigations.
• Process Treasury Money Market deals, Foreign Exchange deals, Treasury bills, Position Keeping, Matching confirmations etc.
• Process internal transfers & internal FX's.
• Process BACS, Direct Debits & Standing Orders.
• Process Client Fixed Deposits.
• Settle Visa card client spending.
• Monitor queues in Vision (core banking system).
• Monitor central inboxes to ensure all work completed.
• Assist with Ad hoc tasks and projects as required from time to time.
• Cover for holidays/sickness in areas known.
• Ability to train & develop on additional roles with the team.
Core Skills and Knowledge:
An organised individual with a growth mindset to work within our locally based team of experienced Operations staff who are key in supporting the business to achieve its strategic objectives.
The administrator will be inquisitive, innovative, and keen to learn new skills to expand their existing knowledge base in International Payments, Treasury Back Office & General Operational processes.
The administrator will have the ability to challenge processes and procedures and suggest and help implement improvements, whilst maintaining controls.

Knowledge
• A good knowledge of SWIFT payments / Nostro accounts / Routing payments.
• Several years of general banking experience.
• Treasury knowledge.
• Knowledge of payments sanctions & FATF regulations.
• Have a good understanding of the regulatory environment including the regulations, rules and guidance and their implications relevant to the job and to follow all applicable internal compliance considerations and appropriate processes, policies and procedures.
• Personal organisation, planning and general administration skills, proven time management skills with ability to deal with demanding clients and work within tight deadlines.
