We have an exciting opportunity to join our Trade and Transaction Reporting team and are currently looking for a Trade & Transaction Reporting Analyst.

As part of Treasury & Trading Operations, the Trade and Transaction Reporting team are responsible for ensuring full reporting compliance globally for all derivatives and securities trading across the bank for Investec Bank Plc, Investec Europe Limited, and Investec Bank plc, Australia Branch.

The scope of the role is broad and requires the team to have a working knowledge across a wide range of products.

The day to day responsibilities of the team are as follows:    

Trade Reporting & Static data

  • Regulatory transaction reporting exception management to be processed in a timely manner, with resolution by liaising with external vendor UnaVista and internal teams (Trade Support, various Desks, IT etc.) to meet IBP's and our client's reporting obligations.
  • SME covering EMIR, Dodd Frank Act, Canadian, ASIC, SFTR and MiFID II/MIFIR trade/transaction reporting regulations and requirements, liaising with Compliance team and key stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Regular review and update of procedures completed to reflect changes in internal processes and various market regulations.
  • Maintain and be responsible for the static data required for trade and transaction reporting where required; liaising with CLM, Document Management, Client Services, Trading Desks and Legal teams.  Data including but not limited to – LEIs and BIC/FRNs, internal flags and codes for delegate reporting.
  • Monthly reviews/sample checking from source systems (Calypso, Chi, RIMS) against various Repository system records (UnaVista, DTCC and DTCC Asia).
  • Involvement in the TR QA process, collating files to send to vendor, understanding the output and discussions re change priorities.
  • Answering email queries directed through Front Office, Client Services or directly from other clients.
  • Management of the issue log, ensuring that all errors logged are regularly reviewed and actioned as required.

Ad-hoc responsibilities

  • To drive key projects and initiatives forward within Treasury & Trading Operations, increasing automation and capacity within the team.
  • Participating in external supplier/vendor conferences, networking with peers and feeding back regulatory updates where applicable.
  • Analyse any new market developments and assess the affect they have on our current model and suggest change where necessary (for example, MiFID II) working with IT, Operational Risk, Compliance and Trade Support where required.
  • Assist with the collation of MI and presenting updates at the monthly TR committee.

The core skills and knowledge for the role are:

Technical knowledge

  • Understanding of all OTC and Listed derivative products (Interest Rate Swaps, FX Forwards, CDS, Commodity Swaps & Options, Futures etc.) and the associated life cycle events (Coupon payments, Terminations, Amortising schedules etc.).


  • Problem solving and judgement
  • Diligent approach to work, very high attention to detail
  • Able to work using own initiative and not be afraid to challenge processes
  • Self-starter in driving new ideas and initiatives
  • PC literate (including Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills)

Changes in the market, products, legislation & regulation relevant to the business area

EMIR (ESMA), MiFID I & II, Dodd Frank (CFTC), Canadian and ASIC regulations
