About the team:
The Finance department in Ireland plays a key role in supporting Investec Europe through accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and effective financial control. The team partners closely with internal stakeholders across the business and engages with external audit, Group Finance and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance, transparency, and operational excellence. As part of a fast-paced and growing environment, the team offers strong development opportunities and hands-on exposure to a wide range of financial processes.
What will I be doing/ Your impact:
As a Trainee Accountant, you will support essential financial reporting and financial control activities while gaining broad exposure across the Finance function. This is a permanent role within Investec Europe Limited and provides an excellent foundation for building a professional accounting career.
You will assist in delivering accurate and timely financial information, maintaining robust financial controls, and supporting regulatory and audit requirements. You'll also contribute to process enhancements and participate in ad-hoc projects, developing both technical and professional skills in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assistwith the month end close process through accounting postings into the general ledger system (JDE).
- Completing bank and intercompany reconciliations.
- Preparing financial statements.
- Participatingin internal and external audits.
- Assistingwith compilation of information requests from Group and regulatory bodies.
- Supporting and contributing to ad-hoc Finance projects.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Contributing to processimprovementsand efficiency initiatives within the Finance function.
What do I need to bring?
You're good at:
- Demonstratingstrong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Communicating clearly and building positive working relationships.
- Using Microsoft Office effectively, particularly Excel.
- Working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Taking initiative, showingcuriosityand taking ownership of assigned tasks.
Core skills, knowledge and experience:
- A third-level degree in Accounting, Finance, Business,Economicsor a related discipline (desirable).
- Ambition and commitment to pursuing a professional accounting qualification (ACA,ACCAor CIMA).
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a structured environment with evolving demands.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the Finance team.
