Investec – Where Out of the Ordinary Happens
At Investec, we do things differently. We're a leading international bank and wealth manager built on a culture of curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit and human connection. Ideas are heard, ambition is celebrated, and impact is encouraged. As part of a team that challenges convention and strives for outperformance, you'll help shape bold solutions for clients who expect something more than the ordinary.
The Transaction Banking Product function shapes, delivers and governs the end-to-end Corporate Current Accounts agenda across Corporate Banking, including account propositions, servicing journeys and future liquidity and cash management capabilities.
Description of role
As the Transaction Banking Product Lead, you will own the Accounts portfolio from insight and strategy through development, launch, optimisation and retirement. You will be accountable for the roadmap, commercial performance, customer and colleague journeys, product governance and future capability across multiple corporate accounts and liquidity management propositions.
You will act as the Corporate Current Account subject matter expert and senior product lead, bringing product discipline, technical curiosity and systems thinking to account infrastructure and servicing. You will balance immediate client and operational needs with long-term architecture, scalability and the target cash management proposition.
You will lead the development of the immediate launch and optimization of the Current Account lifecycle while also developing the roadmap to consider multi-entity account experiences, sweeping, liquidity management, account visibility and maintenance capabilities, ensuring they integrate coherently with payments and the wider Transaction Banking ecosystem.
Key responsibilities
- Own the Corporate Current Account and liquidity strategy, proposition roadmap and full lifecycle across multiple corporate account products.
- Shape and launch new propositions and optimise existing products to improve client value, balances, adoption and commercial growth.
- Own customer and colleague journeys across discovery, onboarding, implementation, activation, maintenance, servicing and closure, driving simplification and digitisation of high-friction maintenance activities.
- Own business cases, forecasts, pricing and product economics; track balances, revenue, usage, servicing, complaints, risk and benefits realisation.
- Use client research, behavioural insight, market trends, competitor analysis, prototypes and testing to identify and validate opportunities.
- Lead development of sweeping, cash concentration, liquidity management, and related integration or partner capabilities.
- Work hand in hand with core stakeholders to assess technical feasibility, legal and regulatory compliance, operational readiness and product risks before launch or material change, balancing priorities between immediate outcomes and long-term growth.
- Act as the Accounts subject matter expert, guiding senior stakeholders and coaching colleagues in product management disciplines.
Key performance areas
- Strategic leadership: Clear Accounts strategy, prioritised roadmap and successful development of broader cash management capabilities.
- Commercial performance: Sustainable growth in balances, revenue, adoption, profitability and pricing effectiveness.
- Client outcomes: Improved onboarding, account maintenance and servicing journeys across complex corporate structures.
- Product governance: Effective lifecycle management, regulatory compliance, controls, resilience and risk management.
- Delivery excellence: disciplined delivery of account, multi-entity, sweeping and liquidity management capabilities.
Core skills and knowledge
- Proven senior product leadership within Commercial and/or Corporate Transaction Banking across corporate accounts, business current accounts, deposits or cash management, taking products from insight and concept through launch and optimisation.
- Strong expertise in Commercial and/or Corporate Transaction Banking with particular focus on corporate account structures, account maintenance, multi-entity requirements, sweeping, cash concentration and liquidity management.
- Commercial and analytical strength across business cases, pricing, forecasting, P&L drivers, benefits tracking and data-led decisions.
- Ability to simplify complex topics, make decisions in ambiguous environments and balance client, commercial, risk and operational priorities.
- Experience designing and improving customer and colleague journeys across onboarding, implementation, servicing and maintenance.
- Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills across senior internal and external stakeholders.
- High agency, sound judgement and a track record of coaching others and embedding strong product practice.
Mandatory skills and attributes
- To act with integrity at all times and embrace the Consumer Duty principles and the philosophy of treating customers fairly.
- Regulatory knowledge applicable to the role.
- Coaching and assessment capability appropriate for a senior manager.
