Treasury Sales Specialist (12076)

The Role: This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an ambitious, diverse, and dynamic sales team responsible for acquiring and developing new-to-bank clients for our Corporate Treasury business. Primarily focused on identifying and converting clients seeking treasury solutions, you will also be responsible for introducing clients to other areas of the wider bank. Along with our product specialists, you will manage these client relationships to ensure they receive a superb Investec treasury experience and become loyal clients in the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire New Business: Generate leads through campaigns, events, networking, and other creative approaches. Visit generated leads with the intention of acquiring their business. Tailor conversations and value propositions to the company's relevant industry, business contact, and decision maker.
  • Account Setup: Ensure the account has a suitable trading and credit limit for both the client and the bank. Manage client expectations throughout this process. Ensure all relevant information is input into the CRM system for accurate MI and performance analysis.
  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain client relationships for their first year of trading. Assist in the handover of the relationship after the year. Maintain dialogue with management and correctly utilize CRM at all times.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist other team members on meetings where required. Build strong internal relationships with dealers, credit officers, compliance, and AML officers. Promote the “One Bank” ethos by being a good corporate citizen to all Investec employees and ensure referrals are forthcoming.
  • Continuous Learning: Attend and partake enthusiastically in monthly training sessions to improve product knowledge.
  • Communication & Attitude: Maintain accurate records at all times. Work with product teams to ensure relationship smoothness and appropriate product sales. Represent the company at external networking and other events for the purposes of professionally promoting the company business and profile.
  • Performance: Meet or exceed all targets set. Ensure that the Return on Capital per client exceeds minimum hurdle rates.

Core Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proven sales experience.
  • No previous FX or banking experience is needed, but a genuine desire to learn and understand our various treasury and hedging products, our sales proposition, the FX markets, and the end-to-end dealing process is essential.

Purpose: The purpose of the role is to acquire new corporate customers within a defined target market to use the treasury products and services offered by Investec Bank plc. These products include foreign exchange, money markets, and interest rates. This is achieved by generating leads, meeting key decision makers, and signing up companies through the articulation of the Investec Treasury Risk Solutions value proposition. This attainment of new business is set in line with a team target for both money markets and foreign exchange, with each team having a Team Leader at the helm.
